Open the contact's record, click the more button (the three dots) beside **Log interaction**, and choose **Edit contact**.

1. **Change what you need**

    You can change their **Photo**, **First name**, **Last name**, **Email**, **Phone**, **Address**, **City**, **State**, **Zip**, **Source**, **Lead type** and **Lead stage**.

2. **Set a budget**

    Enter **Budget from** and **Budget to** as plain numbers, without commas or a dollar sign, such as 200000 and 500000. You can fill in just one. The budget shows on the record, in the preview and on **Contacts**.

3. **Save**

    Click **Save changes**. A new lead stage is recorded on their timeline.

## Good to know

- **First name** and **Last name** are both required here, even though **Quick add** only needs a first name.
- The **Phone** field takes US and Canadian numbers and formats them as you type.
- Tags aren't in this dialog. Add and remove them in the **Tags** row on the record. See [Tag your contacts](/contacts-and-leads/tags).

:::warning
**Edit contact** reads every phone number as a US or Canadian one. If someone has a number with another country code, from an import or a lead form, saving **Edit contact** rewrites it as a 10-digit US number, even when you didn't touch **Phone**. Copy the number before you save, and check it afterwards.
