You can email contacts from Relivo before you connect a mailbox. The email goes from a Relivo address with your name as the sender, and when the contact replies, the reply lands in your **Inbox** and on their timeline.

## How it works

- The sender is your full name from your profile, at a Relivo email address. During your trial the address is shared; once you're on a paid plan, you get an address of your own, made from your first name and a short code.
- Each email carries a reply address that leads back to that contact's conversation in Relivo. Replies go only to Relivo, not to your personal inbox, so check the **Inbox**.
- Your own email address isn't on these emails.

## Monthly limits

Mail sent from the Relivo address has a monthly cap:

| | Emails a month |
| --- | --- |
| During your trial | 200 |
| On a paid plan | 1,000 |

When you reach it, Relivo doesn't send the email. In the **Inbox** and the reply boxes, a message says you've reached the limit. Connecting your own mailbox in **Settings** > **Email** removes the cap, because the mail then goes from your address.

:::tip
Clients are more likely to recognize and answer an email from your own address. Connect a mailbox when you can; see [Which mailbox should I connect?](/email-and-inbox/which-mailbox-to-connect).
