Any CRM or address book that can export a CSV file can move into Relivo. Follow Up Boss also has a direct import (see [Switch from Follow Up Boss](/import-and-export/switch-from-follow-up-boss)).

1. **Export from your old CRM**

    Look for an export or download option for contacts in your old CRM, and save the file as CSV.

2. **Tidy the file, if you need to**

    Open it in a spreadsheet. Make sure the first row holds column names, and remove columns you don't want. If first and last names share one column, split them so each fills its own field.

3. **Import it**

    Click **Import** on **Contacts** for past clients and your sphere, or on **Leads** for leads you are working now, then follow [Import contacts from a CSV file](/import-and-export/import-from-a-csv-file).

## What a CSV import brings

Each person's name, email, phone, company, lead source, lead type, address and tags, plus a notes column that is kept with the contact for your exports. Deals, tasks, emails and timeline history from your old CRM don't come across in a CSV file, so add the deals you are working on by hand.

:::tip
Try a small file first, such as your first 20 rows, to check the mapping. Importing the full file afterwards is safe for rows with an email or phone number, which merge instead of creating copies. Remove the rows you already imported if they only have a name.
