A task reminder sends you a text, an email, or a browser notification at the time you choose.

## Set a reminder

1. **Open the task form**

    Use **Add a next action** or **Edit task** on a contact's page, or the **Next step** in **Log it, then set the next step**.

2. **Open Reminder**

    Click **Reminder** and choose the date and time (**Remind me at** on a contact's page).

3. **Choose how to hear about it**

    On a contact's page, tick **Text message**, **Email** or both under **Notify me by**. **Add a next action** and **Edit next action** also offer **Browser notification**, which starts ticked; **Edit task** doesn't. In **Log it, then set the next step**, tick **Text me**, **Email me** or both.

4. **Save the task**

    The reminder shows as **Set**, and on the **Tasks** tab a bell beside the task shows its time when you hover over it.

Tasks added from **Quick add** or a deal have no reminder until you edit them on the contact's **Tasks** tab.

## What arrives

- A text to the **Mobile phone** in **Settings** > **Profile**, with the task, its due date and the contact's name.
- An email to your sign-in email address, with "Reminder:" and the task in the subject.

Both follow the **Task reminders** switches in **Settings** > **Notifications**. With **Text** switched off there, text reminders don't send, even when ticked on a task; the same goes for **Email**. The **Text** switch starts off and **Email** starts on, so switch **Text** on before you rely on text reminders. Without a mobile number in your profile, text reminders have nowhere to go.

## Browser notifications

A browser notification shows on your computer at the reminder time, but only while the Relivo tab you saved it in stays open. It is offered only in **Add a next action** and **Edit next action** on a contact's page. Your browser asks for permission the first time.

A browser notification isn't saved with the task. If you close or reload that tab, it won't appear. For anything that matters, tick **Text message** or **Email** as well.

## When a reminder doesn't send

- The task was completed or deleted first. That cancels its reminder.
- The reminder time had already passed when you saved it.
- Only **Browser notification** was ticked, and the tab was closed.
- No way to reach you was ticked. **Follow up in 3 days** fills in a 9am reminder, but it sends only once you tick **Text me** or **Email me**.
- The **Task reminders** switch for that channel is off in **Settings** > **Notifications**.
