Lead sources and how to set them
How the Lead sources table on Analytics works, and where each contact's source comes from.
Each contact has a Source, and Lead sources on Analytics groups your contacts by it.
The table
- Source: the source exactly as it is written on the contact. “Zillow” and “zillow” are two different rows.
- Leads: how many contacts have that source.
- Deals: how many deals those contacts have, open or closed.
- Revenue: the commission from their closed deals.
The table shows your ten sources with the most contacts. Contacts with no source are grouped as Unknown.
Where a contact’s source comes from
| How they arrived | Their source |
|---|---|
| You added them as a lead in Quick add | What you typed in Source |
| A lead form | The form’s name followed by “form” |
| A property microsite enquiry | “Property microsite:” and the microsite’s title |
| A form integration | What you chose in Sent from when you created the integration |
| A CSV import | The column you matched to Lead source |
| A Follow Up Boss import | Their source in Follow Up Boss |
Someone who is already a contact keeps their source when they fill in another form.
Change a contact’s source
Open the contact
Open the contact from Contacts or Leads.
Edit it
Click the three-dot button at the top of the page, choose Edit contact and type the source in Source.
Save
Click Save changes. Analytics shows the new source the next time you open it.
Contacts you add from the Contact tab in Quick add start with no source. On Leads, a lead with no source shows “Added by you”.
