New leads and speed to lead

When a new lead appears on Today, what takes them off the list, and what happens after 48 hours.

A new lead shows on Today as “New Lead” with their name from the moment they arrive until someone reaches out to them, for up to 48 hours.

When a new lead appears

All of these have to be true:

  • They are an active lead: added as a Lead, imported into Leads, or captured by a lead form, an integration or a property microsite inquiry.
  • Their lead stage is New Lead.
  • They were added less than 48 hours ago.
  • Nothing has gone out to them yet.

The longer a new lead waits, the higher they rank, so the oldest uncontacted lead rises toward the top of the list.

What takes them off

Anything you send or log to their timeline counts as reaching out:

  • logging a call, email, text or note, from Today or with Log interaction on their contact page
  • adding a note on their Notes tab or on one of their deals
  • sending them an email from Relivo

Moving them past New Lead to Contacted also takes them off the new-lead item. Their own form submission or reply doesn’t count, and neither does adding a task.

Reach out

Click Reach out

Reach out opens Log it, then set the next step for that lead.

Say what you did

Choose Call, Email, Text or Note and write a line about it, or choose Send an email to email them from Relivo (shown when they have an email address).

Set the next step and save

Pick or type the next step, then click Save. The lead leaves the new-lead item and Today reloads.

Opening the dialog changes nothing on its own. If you close it without logging anything, the lead stays on Today.

After 48 hours

A new lead nobody has reached out to after 48 hours doesn’t disappear. Their New Lead limit is 2 days, so they show up as a cooling contact instead. See Cooling contacts and when they appear.
