What Relivo logs from your mailbox

Relivo logs only email to and from your contacts. Your full inbox is never imported, and Gmail is never read.

Relivo logs a message only when it is to or from someone who is already one of your contacts. Everything else in your mailbox is left alone: your full inbox is never imported.

What each connection logs

  • Gmail (Send only): only the email you send from Relivo. Relivo doesn’t have permission to read your Gmail, so replies and the rest of your mail stay in Gmail.
  • Outlook / Microsoft 365 and Other provider (IMAP / SMTP) (Two-way sync):
    • email you send from Relivo
    • your contacts’ replies and new messages from them
    • email you send to a contact from your own mail app
    • your recent email with existing contacts, brought in once when you connect

How a message is matched

Relivo compares the other person’s email address with the Email on your contacts, ignoring capital letters. For mail you receive, that’s the sender. For mail you send, it’s the first address in the To line.

  • A message from someone who isn’t a contact isn’t logged. Adding them as a contact later logs their new messages from then on.
  • Drafts aren’t logged.
  • Relivo skips email it has already logged, so disconnecting and connecting again doesn’t add copies.

Who handles the connection

The connection to your mailbox is run by Aurinko, a mailbox integration provider working for Relivo. Where Relivo syncs your mailbox, it reads messages to match them to the right contact and show them on that contact’s timeline. It doesn’t scan your mail for advertising, profiling or model training. The privacy policy has the full details.
